A sepia-toned portrait of a woman in an ornate gold and dark wood frame hangs on a patterned wall. The woman has an elaborate bow in her hair and is dressed in an off-the-shoulder, embroidered gown.
A hallway with wooden floors and patterned wallpaper leads through an arched doorway to a room with a fireplace, plants, and a large framed portrait on the far wall. White trim frames the arch and doors.
A group of six people sit and stand around a table in a cozy room, working with papers and envelopes. A box of mail is on the table, and a "WANTED" poster is on the wall behind them. They appear cheerful and collaborative.
Seven women stand and sit around a table decorated with cards, baskets, and holiday items in a sunlit room with large windows and white curtains. The atmosphere appears cheerful and festive.

Unearth the Past

The Fort Bend Archeological Society

Firearms of the Texas Revolution
Presented by Joshua “Josh” Martinez, Collectors Firearms

Join the Fort Bend Archeological Society for an evening exploring the firearms carried during the Texas Revolution. Drawing on nearly a decade of experience at Collectors Firearms, Martinez will discuss the flintlock rifles and muskets used during the period, examining their craftsmanship, function, and historical context. Through his work handling surviving examples, he offers insight into the weapons that shaped early 19th-century Texas.

The Fort Bend Archeological Society meets on the third Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the Exhibit Gallery of the Fort Bend Museum, 410 South 5th Street, Richmond, TX 77469. Meetings are free and open to the public.
