Discover History

The Rich Tapestry of Richmond’s Past

Opened in 1972, our local history museum is owned and operated by the Fort Bend History Association, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to sharing and preserving the stories, artifacts, and cultural milestones that shaped our vibrant community.

Located in the heart of Fort Bend County, we provide a dynamic space for learning, exploration, and celebration. As a beloved event venue and educational hub, we invite you to discover a place where history meets hospitality.

A museum exhibit features a small wooden house facade with two columns, a brown door, and informational signs about Jane Long. A black-and-white illustration of Jane Long sits in front of the display.
Five framed black-and-white vintage portraits hang on beige patterned wallpaper; four are individual headshots, and the center frame features a group of people.
A wooden shelving unit displays various items like books, postcards, small sculptures, framed art, and baskets. Large windows on either side let in daylight, and a rotating postcard rack and a bin of books are nearby.
