Become a part of preserving Fort Bend’s rich history by getting involved with the Fort Bend History Association. Your participation ensures that our community’s stories and artifacts are preserved for generations to come.
The Friends of the Fort Bend Museum play a vital role in bringing Texas and Fort Bend County history to life. As a member, you’ll help lead tours of historic locations such as the 1883 John and Lottie Moore Home and the 1855 Long-Smith Cottage. Members also assist with educational programs, administrative tasks, and community events like our annual Halloween events and Candlelight Tours. Ready to make an impact? Firearms of the Texas Revolution
Presented by Joshua “Josh” Martinez, Collectors Firearms
Join the Fort Bend Archeological Society for an evening exploring the firearms carried during the Texas Revolution. Drawing on nearly a decade of experience at Collectors Firearms, Martinez will discuss the flintlock rifles and muskets used during the period, examining their craftsmanship, function, and historical context. Through his work handling surviving examples, he offers insight into the weapons that shaped early 19th-century Texas.
The Fort Bend Archeological Society meets on the third Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the Exhibit Gallery of the Fort Bend Museum, 410 South 5th Street, Richmond, TX 77469. Meetings are free and open to the public.
